If the last 90 days are any sign of what the future holds, we are in for quite the ride. Since the last time I wrote a blog post: we had a disastrous presidential debate, an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, and kamala Harris became the new democrat presidential nominee.
If history is any teacher, we can know for a fact that the future is unpredictable. This is especially true of American politics. With multiple forces at work, many for evil and some for a certain level of good. The next 90 days could shape the future of the country for a long time to come. There is only one thing that we can have hope in at this moment in time, that is the grace and justice of the Lord almighty. We know that Jesus Christ is the Just and the Justifier. There may be nefarious forces at work, however there is one greater than those that are in the world.
Over the next 90 days I beg you to pray, pray for our nation, pray for the safety of those in politics with political violence on the rise. Pray for your neighbors, pray for our election. Prayer is the one tool that God has given us to take control of our future. There is power in prayer and that power comes from the Lord Himself.
We have entered a binary race, we are left with two choices for the leader of our country. As a man of faith and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I see only one true option that I could make with a clean conscience. That would be Donald J Trump, who is by no means a perfect candidate. Every candidate has their shortcomings and his shortcomings are real. However, with the agenda of the Democratic movement and the radical beliefs of Kamala Harris on crucial issues like abortion, immigration, and foreign policy. This is the only path that I see forward that can be of moral good for our country. As much as we could wish for a more Christian oriented candidate, one is not coming. Therefore, I encourage you to take the time to do the research necessary and to serve your country well and exercise your civic duty to VOTE.
At the end of the day, you must follow your moral principles and make the right decision but this is a very big decision. So do not make it lightly, think about your future, your family, and our country. The eyes of history are watching us and one day someone will read in their history book about this era and I pray we can be found on the right side of history with an era of principled culture changers. Remember, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places'' (Eph 6:12). The only true control we have is over our personal lives and the life we lead before the Lord. If you desire to see the culture changed you must first evaluate your own life and see that you are leading it well. God bless.
